- Yes, but not advised. Majority of vehicles apart from vehicles that store immobilizer codes within the cluster will start and drive but due to the cluster not being fitted, the vehicle ECU respond as the car has been involved in a accident and many fault codes will be stored. For example engine management, various fault codes, airbags deployed and so on. Cluster repairs strictly advise against driving the vehicle without the instrument cluster fitted.

- Why do pixel repair prices vary?
- Pixel repair prices vary car to car as we replace all parts that affect the pixels displays. Some screens are small some are large so the main cost is based on the costs of the replacements parts. Cluster repairs UK are the only company in the UK which have spent 10's of thousands of pounds in developing LCD's to repair all pixels errors ensuring the longest professional warranties.
- I have had my instrument cluster display pixels repaired by another company and within months the pixels have started to break up?
- This is due to the repair being done using the original defective parts. 99.9% of pixels repairers use the original damage parts and just touch them up. If you choose to use a cheaper option make sure the method is told to you and if you are told that parts are replaced get this in writing so you can by law get a full refund if the repairs fail. Cluster repairs UK know that is take 10's of thousands of pounds of investment to develop parts for the repairs, you cannot get LCD's ready made of the shelf, so if the company does not reflect this high standards they have probably just touch the unit up and have got it working for a short period. If you want to query your repair, Cluster repairs UK will examine your unit for free and back it with a full report.
- Do you offer your repair services at your premises?
- Yes, all repairs can be done at any of our workshops. All walk in repairs must be booked in and are by appointment only.
- How much does it cost for you to test my unit before you quote me with the costs of repair?
- Cluster repairs UK charge a minimum of £40 as a test fee no matter how many hours we spend, but we do not want to charge this. Are intentions are not to charge a test fee at all but a higher price for a successful repair. This fee is mainly for customers that choose another option after getting a quote from us which is not recommended as our prices are very fair. Customers that get a quote from us and choose not to use us and to save only 10's of pounds, they normally end up paying a lot more in the long run. Cluster repairs UK never over charged and in some cases we cap repair cost at 40% of a brand new unit no matter how long it takes us to repair the unit. Rest assured 99.9% of units are repaired and a test fee is never charged.
- Once my instrument cluster has been repaired will it need to be re-coded to my vehicle?
- No, never. If a unit needs to be coded once we have repaired it, it does not become financially viable for the repair to takes place. In laymen's terms if you have to pay out for coding plus the repair costs to us you might as well but a new unit as the costs become too high.
- Will I lose my mileage from my instrument cluster?
- No, never. But if in any case the mileage is lost on our test bench we can easily restore this and you will never know about it.

- Can I hire another unit like MID, ACC or OBC while mine is being repaired?
- Yes, if we have your part number in stock this can be arrange. Call us for more details.
- I have found an identical part via a scrap yard/eBay, Should I buy it?
- No, never. Unless your car is worth penny's we strictly advise against this. Buying a second hand part, you will get little or no warranty (mostly 1 month). We have received record numbers for upsetting stories of customers buying mainly off eBay, and the part has been received not working or just lasting a few months. You've got to ask yourself why the person is selling a part. The average Joe unless they have replaced the part in the past, they should not have a spare unit in their garage or lying around. Most parts are seconds because they have been replaced (so they are no good) or they are from a scrap vehicle. Our best advice is, get your original unit repaired from a reputable company like us or buy brand new to ensure long warranties.
- How do I package my instrument cluster?
- We recommend that you also use a box with a with gap of 3" around your part so you can fill the gaps between the box walls and part with either bubble wrap, packaging chips or newspaper. If you are still unsure on how to package your instrument cluster please do not hesitate in contacting us.
